Grey is becoming an increasingly popular colour when it comes to windows and doors, and can really transform the look of a home. For this particular project, the home owner was taken with the Slate Grey wood grain effect we had on display in our showroom. The property itself is a century old end terrace. A home full of character and charm. Yet, these modern Slate Grey wood grain windows contrast beautifully with the stone walls of this property.

The purple door is also a work of art. This is one of our solid engineered door designs that was custom sprayed to the colour of the home owner’s choice. It works superbly both with the Slate Grey wood grain windows, the stone of the house and the black stone surround it sits in. It’s a colour combination that really works!

The products used for this project are our high-end double glazed PVCu casement windows and doors, manufactured by John Fredericks – a supplier of which we have had a productive relationship with for over three decades.

These windows achieve an impressive A+8 Window Energy Rating, whilst all our frames come fully steel reinforced as standard. The Slate Grey wood grain effect is a standard finish for the windows, and the purple is a custom colour chosen by the home owner, which the door was then sprayed in by industry colour experts Kolorseal.

Custom colours are becoming a bigger part of what we do. It means we can create windows and doors specifically to the taste of the client, ensuring that they are unique to them.

The client for this project was after a renovation unlike others done on the street, and for a look that was striking, but still worked with the property given it’s age. With the Slate Grey and Purple combination, we believe that this has been done, much to the satisfaction of the home owner.

An installation like this demonstrates how modern colour choices, when decided upon correctly, can create a contrasting yet visually impressive look to a home.

For properties like this, heritage colours such as Cream, French Grey, Sage Green or other contrasting colours such as Anthracite Grey, could work well too.
