Wow, we really did get a lot of snow this weekend! They said it would be bad, but I think few predicted how bad the weather was actually going to get. Up in Cumbria, 15 foot snow drifts continue to bury cars and lorries. Thousands of homes across Northern Ireland, Isle of Man, Scotland and North West England continue without power and the sub-zero temperatures continue to be a risk to the ill and elderly. It makes what we got here in Wakefield look comparatively small and manageable! Still, given our location, we had a very large dump of snow and the drifts were impressive and inconvenient at the same time. Despite this, we remained open on Saturday, working hard to clear the snow and make sure business could carry on as normal. The amount of snow shoveled were impressive, so here is our little image diary of what was quite an eventful day! Enjoy!

This is what greeted us on Saturday morning. The closer to the reception, the deeper it quickly got!

Making progress. This was easily the most amount of snow we've ever had to clear! Not an easy job, but one that needed doing!

All done! Huge piles of snow, but the main car park and delivery areas are now clear!
