Well, what a relief! It felt like Winter was never going to end! The endless snow, cloud and cold winds have really put back the start of the housing season. This time last year the housing season started well in advance thanks to a very dry Winter and an early and warm start to Spring. In fact we were having barbecues in March last year. Obviously this year is totally different.

Nevertheless, Spring is now here, the sun came out in style at the weekend here in Wakefield and now is the time we can all finally start looking at our properties and see what the harsh long Winter has done to them.

Spring is traditionally the time we all start to plan our house renovations to be done over the coming months while the (supposedly) better weather is here. The cold Winter weather usually takes it’s toll on old wooden and old aluminium windows, doors and conservatories. Now is a great time to start thinking about replacing these with contemporary yet traditional looking PVCu options!

The advantages are endless. New PVCu windows and doors are the most maintenance-free option available. They are easy to keep clean, without the need to varnishing, sanding and painting every year! They are also very energy efficient. Our standard PVCu options come energy rated A+8 as standard, and our specialist timber-alternative PVCu windows come A+13 rated! They can save your hundreds of pounds a year on your fuel bills and keep that valuable heat in when it’s cold!

PVCu windows and doors have come a long way since their introduction just over 30 years ago. There are PVC window and door options out there, such as our very special timber-alternative windows made by Evolution. These have been designed specifically to mimic every detail of timber, without all the drawbacks of maintenance and lower energy efficiency. The best thing? No one would know they were PVCu at all!

Timber alternative windows have all the character of timber, without any of the drawbacks!
